Malignant Germ Cell International Consortium

Headquarters: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

The Malignant Germ Cell International Consortium brings together the world’s leading expert in germ cell tumors, ¬†from across the spectrum of cancer research, with the shared goal of developing more effective treatments for germ cell tumors through scientific inquiry. Collaboration across a wide range of disciplines–clinical trialists, basic scientists, bioinformaticists, pathologists, statisticians, surgeons, epidemiologists–is allowing MaGIC to accelerate the pace of discovery and the promise of change.

Our Role

In 2019, the Volchenboum Lab team began working with MaGIC to update their data dictionary and integrate their work with the PCDC. Our goals together include the following:
  • Perform a line-by-line review of the MaGIC data dictionary
  • Develop an updated data dictionary that maps to the PCDC model and will be interoperable with our other work
  • Ensure that the MaGIC data commons is in line with national standards
  • Integrate germ cell tumor data into the Pediatric Cancer Data Commons
