The AYA Research Council (ARC) amplifies the perspective of the adolescent and young adult (AYA) cancer population and provides strategic and operational guidance related to cross-disease AYA science to address the unique research needs of this community.
Purpose:
- To include representative key stakeholders in advising the PCDC on AYA science
- To advise on the science of AYA research, ethical considerations, expansion of AYA data in the commons, and other related topics while maintaining the independence of the disease consortia for scientific direction
- To lead review of AYA project request process for multiple diseases, facilitate relationships with adult cancer groups to add those data to the existing datasets, report AYA studies across groups, and facilitate communication between groups about AYA activities
- To propose and perform cross-disease AYA research
